About Us
At Advanced Physio Solutions we have nearly 50 years of experience between us in dealing with musculoskeletal (MSK) presentations. We recognise that whilst exercise-based therapy is often the gold standard treatment for many MSK conditions, sometimes other treatments in conjunction are needed.
Combining a good clinical examination with imaging findings can help clarify diagnostic uncertainty and/or help patients accept diagnosis and commit to their treatment plan.
We offer an advanced MSK assessment including an ultrasound scan as appropriate. We can also provide a range of ultrasound guided treatment interventions, including steroid or anaesthetic injections, hyaluronic acid injections, high volume injections for persistent tendon pain, hydro-dilatation for frozen shoulder, barbotage and more, usually within the same session.
Here’s what Peter has to say: “I’ve been very fortunate to be able to develop my career in a number of areas that are not often found in private practice. I’ve worked very hard to achieve my qualifications and as such the goals for Advanced Physio Solutions are clear to me; We want to deliver the same high standards as we do in our NHS practice but for patients who may wish not to wait. We want to incorporate our whole skill set which includes assessment; imaging; prescribing; injections and 50 years of experience between us to continue to help people understand and feel better equipped to manage their MSK problems and most of all take satisfaction in providing an honest opinion.”

As well as running Advanced Physio Solutions, Peter works as an advanced practice MSK (musculoskeletal) clinician for a busy community NHS trust in Sussex. This involves multiple sessions a week performing diagnostic ultrasound scanning and guided injections for both the MSK and rheumatology teams. Peter also maintains an advanced MSK assessment and patient list which involves seeing complex patients and integrating different forms of imaging such as X-ray, MRI and ultrasound alongside organising blood tests. He regularly supervises and develops new members of staff within the NHS team and he has supervised master’s degree students in clinical practice placements alongside playing an active role in teaching and supervision for the MSK clinic, GP’s and physiotherapy departments.
Peter regularly provides clinical mentorship and moderates on examinations on Musculoskeletal Medical Ultrasound courses through the AECC University College in Bournemouth and has also taught anatomy in the classroom and dissection labs. Peter is also the lead for the master’s level Ultrasound Guided Injections Module and runs a whole day teaching on the topic for masters level students through the University.
Peter is interested in all aspects of MSK health and well-being and promoting the integration of imaging findings with strong clinical assessment. Andrew works as an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist with a wealth of experience over the last 20 years within musculoskeletal, rheumatology and orthopaedic care. He holds clinics within several specialities within the NHS and privately including ultrasound lists (including guided procedures), rheumatology lists and complex case reviews for patients failing to improve with physiotherapy. He regularly utilises advanced practice roles such as referring for further imaging (MRI/X-ray) and alternative investigations including blood tests and neurophysiology testing. Andrew also has close links with orthopaedic consultants and can advise on referral options when the need arises.
Andrew holds both a BSc in Physiotherapy and MSc in Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy alongside a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound with specific modules relating to upper limb and lower limb disorders and ultrasound guided injections. He roughly undertakes around 500 guided procedures a year. He has achieved post-graduate masters level accreditation in prescribing and utilises this both within the musculoskeletal and rheumatological disciplines. He is happy to assess from the simple to the complex and can give a thorough balanced assessment and opinion on a wide range of disorders that clients suffer. Outside of work he has a busy family life with 4 young (but rapidly growing!) children.
